Resources and Partners

Social Justice and Outreach Partners

If this is an emergency, dial 911.

Richfield United Methodist Church partners with vetted and evaluated local organizations and within the worldwide United Methodist Church to share compassion and justice outreach. This approach gives the church opportunities to practice priority thinking, act with integrity, and maintain missional alignment with causes.

Richfield United Methodist Church does not offer immediate financial assistance.

If you need immediate assistance, the best recommended resource is “The Handbook to the Streets” by St. Stephen’s Human Services. These set of handbooks, one for the Minneapolis area and one for the St. Paul area, list every resource imaginable for immediate assistance regarding food, shelter, public assistance, health care, education, employment, services for immigrants, and legal services. Access handbooks online for free and Richfield UMC often has print copies of the Minneapolis edition in its Free Little Library near the bus top at 58th Street W. and Lyndale Avenue S. (while supplies last).

VEAP Food Pantry

Richfield UMC is a founding church partner of VEAP Food Pantry, which works in both immediate compassion-based food and health giveaway relief and anti-poverty justice at the systemic level.

Beacon Interfaith Housing

Richfield UMC is a longstanding church partner of Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative, which gives immediate shelter through Families Moving Forward, builds sustainable housing like West 66, and works for justice at the systemic level.
